Liquid feeding for Asia
There is a pressing need to recycle raw garbage as people have become concerned about the feed crisis created by increased bio-ethanol production, climate changes, and so on. However the quantity of raw garbage in pig farming feed has been limited to less than 10% due to meat quality issues and storage problems of raw garbage. The meat rating was found to be quite low for raw garbage fed pig.

The Koji Liquid Feeding process developed by us uses Kawachi microorganisms to dissolve raw garbage and to keep it fresh with citric acid produced by Koji fermentation. It is a revolutionary method which can grow high quality pig meat with 90% garbage and 10% nutrition supplement feed. We have been using the system in our own pig farm for more than 4 years and it is officially recognized in Japan that Koji pork is tastier than pig fed with traditional formula feed. An official tasting test was conducted by Japan Pig Associa- tion with pigs raised at the Nasu Livestock Experiment Station.

Once the result of blind tasting had been published, major pig farms in our region, in association with some local governments, started to pick up and introduce our technology in projects utilizing raw garbage in pig farming. One of the effects of Koji feed is reducing fecal moisture content and odor. Requiring little labor, pig excreta in our pig farm is naturally fermented by microorganisms in sawdust bed and there is nothing to despoil the environment.
