Genkoji Value Recycle
Genkoji Value RecycleTM represents our basic policy towards recycling organic by-products and wastes.
- A particular type of Koji, a microorganism used in making traditional Japanese foods, was discovered by Genichiro Kawachi, founder of our group companies. The Koji fermentation will change organic materials into highly useful products for human beings and animals alike.
- Various by-products and wastes from food production, processing and consumption stages can be changed into health products or feed depending on the material.
- As Koji fermentation is a natural process, there is no pollution involved and little energy (oil or gas) is being used in our plant.
Feed Production Plant
Food and organic industry by-products and wastes are usually dried before being used as feed. But drying is costly and cause destruction of the nutrients. Biogenkoji Reserach Institute established a new technique for drying and processing food industry by-products and wastes using Koji. In addition, Biogenkoji Reserach Institute designed a unique plant (GEN system) for the optimal fermentation conditions. Moreover, the fermented products have higher nutritive values and digestibility compared with the original by-products and wastes.
